The N.C. Beverage Association has pledged $15,000 to the Recycle Guys and RE3.org statewide educational campaigns. The N.C. Division of Pollution Prevention and Environmental Assistance will raise an additional $35,000 in matching funds from private sector companies and trade groups.
All funds raised will be combined with $150,000 in state funds and $40,000 from local governments to purchase television and radio ads, and outreach materials. DPPEA’s goal is to raise awareness of recycling’s benefits to the state’s economy and its communities, and to increase public commitment to this environmentally sustainable behavior.
