SOCIAL MARKETING TIPS – Diffusion of Innovation Theory

The Diffusion of Innovation theory includes innovators, early adopters, early majority, late majority and laggards. Social marketers normally target the innovators and early adopters, who hopefully will adopt the behavior first and then influence the early majority and late majority folks through word of mouth. Social marketers don't usually target the laggards as their primary audience, but of course, there are always exceptions.
