Today I am headed to the State Fair. Not something I normally do each year but I am working at a booth for the Change A Light NC campaign.
I am also going to do some sleuthing. We often get requests to recycle at the fair. This is a very daunting task. It requires much collaboration between many state agencies and private entities. The hours of the fair coupled with the amount of people that attend make recycling a clean, uncontaminated product difficult.
It has been tried – educationally and operationally.
Rest assured the animal bedding from the fair is composted and other environmental initiatives take place there.
Others recycle though:
- Alaska State Fair Recycling
- Delaware State Fair Recycling
- Minnesota State Fair Recycling
Article 1 and Article 2
- New York County Fair Recycling
