I attended a conference last month at Catawba College called Faith, Spirituality and Environmental Stewardship. I am interested in this subject as a means to educate a community about recycling. For those that attend a house of worship regularly, lots of information about various issues is discussed via this network. One such example would be the NC Interfaith Power & Light (a program of the NC Council of Churches). This organization works with faith communities to address the causes and consequences of global climate change. I think this avenue would be a great way for local recycling coordinators to cause behavior change using norms.
Also, what do you think about creating graphics using a religious theme? Would this motivate certain people to recycle that currently do not?
