BANneD Events - Raleigh and Durham

Beginning Oct. 1, plastic bottles are banned from being thrown into North Carolina landfills. To raise awareness about the ban, RE3.org is hosting a “BANneD” tour across the state (a play on band and banned, get it?). By partnering with local music venues and coffee shops, we are bringing you “great live music with an environmental message!”

The first stop on the tour will be on Aug. 21 at N.C. State’s Friday Fest on Lee Field. The concert, featuring Josh Gracin and Chuck Wicks, is going “green” this year by including recycling and composting stations. Organizations at the event will also be handing out reusable water bottles that include information about the bottle ban and recycling on N.C. State’s campus. The show begins at 5:45 p.m. and is free to all N.C. State students ($25 for the general public). So come out, enjoy free food and good live music. Don’t forget to stop by and visit us at the RE3.org booth!
Purchase tickets here.

Following Friday Fest is the second stop on the BANneD tour. We will be partnering with The Pinhook in Durham for a show on Aug. 22. The show starts at 10:00 p.m. and features Cobalt and the Hired Guns, Blare Crimmins and the Hookers, and Panda Force. The cost is FREE for members and $2 for non-members. For more information about The Pinhook, check out its Web site here.
