Description of Work
This position is responsible for assisting in the administration of the State's solid waste management annual reporting process, recycling grant programs and for providing recycling technical assistance to NC counties and municipalities. The position works directly with local governments to identify opportunities for recycling program expansion, to identify related projects that would be eligible for grant funding and assisting local government with the annual reporting process.
Position helps conduct the annual grant cycles for local recycling programs, reviewing grant proposals, helping make award decisions, establishing grant contracts, and ensuring that grantees fulfill grant requirements. Position also participates directly in the annual local solid waste reporting process, managing incoming reports, editing reports and managing local program data to track recycling performance and produce information that communities can use to improve their efforts. In general, the position will act as a resource for local governments on a wide range of waste reduction and recycling issues.
