Job Summary: Responsible for the planning and directing of a variety of waste reduction and recycling activities including, but not limited to, development of markets for recyclables, public events, workshops, newspaper articles and presentations. Work with businesses, housing community complexes and schools to develop waste reduction goals and assist in obtaining them. Liaison between the county and contractors regarding the staffed collection centers, HHW, and recycling markets. Responsible for both the development and administration of the education/waste reduction budget.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from a four year college with a major in Environmental Sciences; or related field and preferably some experience in solid waste/recycling; administrative experience in an environmentally-orientated setting; planning or managing recycling/waste reduction program; public relations; or a combination of education and experience; must have a valid NC Drivers License.
Salary: $34,076 - $41,420.
