Senate Bill 887 has been signed by Gov. Perdue, which now launches implementation of North Carolina's new electronics legislation. The bill includes opportunities for funding for local government electronics programs but also specific requirements for how communities become eligible for the funding. NC DENR will hold a set of workshops around the state in August (info below) to provide detailed information on this legislation. Questions about the workshops can be directed to Scott Mouw at scott.mouw@ncdenr.gov or (919) 715-6512.
